In the 1980s, there was a congressman from CA by the name of Bill Dannemeyer. His district took in Yorba Linda, Villa Park, La Habra, Orange (city of), Fullerton, Brea, Placentia and east Anaheim.
During his time period in congress, he was seen as just another conservative congressman with occasional pet causes (such as trying to get Barney Frank expelled). I had no idea if he was still alive and whatnot. I came across a website of his that I found interesting: http://www.takebackourrights.org/.
Maybe he wasn't as crazy back then (I was too young to follow politics when he was in office) but I found it interesting how anywhere in the country (even Orange County) could elect someone such blatantly anti-semitic.
